Digital Transformation: New Growth for ASEAN, China, Japan SMEs
Digital transformation is a key pathway to achieving rapid growth and green development for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).
The ASEAN, China, Japan, and Korea Digital Empowerment Forum for Green Development of SMEs and the South Asia Southeast Asia Digital Cooperation Matching Exchange were held on the 15th in Kunming, Yunnan.
Feng Xu, Deputy Director of the Small and Medium Enterprises Development Promotion Center of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, said in his speech that in ASEAN, China, Japan, and Korea, SMEs are the driving force for economic development and an important group for digital transformation development and achieving green development. The countries of ASEAN, China, Japan, and Korea are geographically adjacent, have different resource endowments, and have strong economic complementarity. Promoting the coordinated transformation and development of digitalization and greening, and creating a green and smart digital ecological civilization, will help to promote the cooperation and upgraded development of SMEs in ASEAN and China, Japan, and Korea, and cultivate new cooperation growth points.

Zhang Xing, Deputy Director of the Comprehensive Coordination Department of the China-ASEAN Center, said that China-ASEAN is one of the most successful and dynamic cooperation models in the Asia-Pacific region, and has achieved positive results in cooperation in the fields of the digital economy and the green economy in recent years. The 27th China-ASEAN Leaders' Meeting and the 27th ASEAN Plus Three Leaders' Meeting reached an important consensus on strengthening the interconnection of industrial and supply chains and creating momentum for high-quality development, which has strategic guiding significance for further promoting and deepening cooperation in digital empowerment and green development in the future.
Promoting digital going abroad is a key pathway for SMEs to expand into the international market, enhance innovation capabilities, and achieve sustainable development. The forum released the "Sailing Out to Sea" Action for Chinese SMEs - SME Digital Going Abroad Action Plan (Yunnan), to jointly promote Yunnan's digital going abroad.
Shi Youlian, Deputy Secretary-General of the Yunnan Provincial Government and Deputy Director of the Provincial Department of Industry and Information Technology, introduced that since this year, Yunnan Province has formed a development concept of "promoting cooperation through the joint construction of the Southeast Asia South Asia Information Corridor, guiding demand through cooperation, gathering development through demand, and promoting the construction of China's radiation center facing South Asia Southeast Asia from both physical and network spaces". He proposed three suggestions: first, to accelerate the digital transformation of enterprises and improve the service capacity of digital going abroad; second, to seize the opportunity of the construction of the Kunming International Communication Business Entrance and Exit Bureau to jointly build the Southeast Asia South Asia Information Corridor; third, to actively participate in the Yunnan Digital Going Abroad Action and jointly promote the "great gathering" of the digital industry.
